I love the first panel so much. It looks so creepy and cool, even in this shitty style. I wanted to make it a full page, but at the same time I needed to show the transition between the dream and Sano waking up in order to establish that white outline on black background = dream and vise versa = not dream.
Hajime's royalish-design shiiya doesn't look as cool as Sano's.
