Monday lunch is always warm, because I take my cooler home over the weekends. But! I just ate the best pumpkin scone in all history.
Earlier I got in my annual watching of It’s a Wonderful Life. I seem to recall that I watched it a work last year too, whilst I was doing dishes. One more year of that and I won’t be able to watch it anywhere else as it would be a breach of tradition.
I started a new vignette. We’re so busy here that there’s no way it’ll be finished at work, but it’s destined to be short so it’ll probably be soon.
OK, no mas.
You’ve made me nostalgic for that movie. It’s one of my all-time favorites. ♥
I like it too, but I don’t watch it more than once every Christmas season because it’s sooo long.
*chuckle* my family’s tradition is to watch National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation several weeks before christmas. its funny watching my dad watch. he maintains a perma-grin the entire movie and laughs before the funny stuff even happens. too funny.
but my mom then at some point watches Its a Wonderful Life as well. sometimes i watch it with her and sometimes i don’t. its harder to now, since i no longer live there. :P
anyway, gotta love tradition. ^__^
We always watch Miracle on 34th Street (the real one, not the remake) on Thanksgiving after dinner (because it starts wis the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade) to officially start the Christmas season. Then the day after, as we put up our Christmas decorations, we always watch White Christmas and the Muppet Christmas Carol. The rest of the movies we just watch whenever we have time and feel like it. Yeth, traditions are great!!
oh, the Muppet Christmas Carol. haven’t seen that in ages. have to watch that this week some time!
Definitely one of the best renditions :D And I consider myself somewhat of a connoisseur; another of our family traditions is to read the book out loud every Christmas Eve.
i just love the Muppets. grew up on them and still love ’em. and that has to be one of the best Muppet movies ever.
we listen to Handel’s Messiah(sp?) during christmas eve dinner and while opening gifts with my parents. christmas day we go to my grandmothers house and have dinner with the extended family. or we go to the husband’s family for dinner.
Now I’m getting all excited for Christmas :D On Christmas Eve we eat lots of finger foods whilst we read, and those of us what draw usually draw and the rest play wis Legos. It’s fun and silly. Then we open presents on Christmas. Hmm, Christmas is on a Sunday this year… I wonder if I will be forced to go to church…
fun and silly is the best!! at my grandma’s house on christmas day we play this odd game of bingo where if you get a bingo you pick a prize and then when all the prizes are gone you can steal from other peoples stuff. it gets so loud and excited. sooo much fun! (oh yeah, everybody brings the prizes, some good some bad)
O_o church. forgot about that. i’m kinda glad my parents no longer go.
Heh, that does sound like fun! Especially the stealing part.
And I suppose I should go to church wis them just to make them happy. It is Christmas, after all… time of giving, and all that…
yeah, a couple of years ago there was a $5 best buy gift card that passed through like 6 peoples hands before the end of the game. its funny to watch! i mean it was only $5.
yes, i guess you should go then. if my parents still went i’m sure i would go too.
Heh heh heh heh….
funny thing is the husband worked, and still does, at best buy and he didn’t even end up with it. ^__^
It’s good to see them talking like this. I laughed at Trowa saying that it took him 87 years to believe he’d be able to break the curse. I can see why Quatre would have that half reproving/half pleading look on his face. I’d probably look at Trowa the same way, too.
Poor Quatre… he’s at the added disadvantage of fearing that this entire conversation, effective as it was, may be entirely pointless since it’s possible that Trowa won’t survive the week. So, yes, I think his expression makes sense too! But at least they did make some progress.
Heh Poor Trowa. He’ll have to learn faster than 87 years from now on. ;p
Awesome (but a little sad for them) as always.
I’m really getting excited about the week almost being up. :D
I love how well you’re pacing this. :3
Fortunately, Quatre is a good teacher! And, like Trowa said, it’s not an unpleasant lesson to learn :D
I’m very glad you like the pacing. I hope you continue to enjoy it through the climax!
I’m glad they had this talk, it should help them. I do think Quatre is an expert with dealing with Trowa :) I hope the stubborn magician will try more, so they can be both happy :)
Yes, I think this will do them good — and I think you’re right; Quatre is exactly what Trowa needs at this point :D Thanks for your comments!
I am so happy to see Quatre actually getting through that THICK SKULL of Trowa! So Quatre! Written so well that I could HEAR Quatre saying those words to him! It was perfect!
Aww, I’m so glad you thought it was written that well ^__^ I think this will help them become closer and happier, don’t you?
I really like this Trowa. I’m not sure what it is yet but I really like him. And Quatre really is perfect for him isn’t he? :3
I’m glad you like him. Poor guy needs people to like him, heaven knows XD And I hope Quatre is perfect for him, because I tried really hard to set it up that way!
Thanks for your comments :D
Stupid LJ didn’t post my first comment D:
And took me a bit to read this…stupid work has been busy busy @_@
Thanks again for another lovely chapter with Quatre letting Trowa know how he feels! ^-^
LJ can be a real jerk sometimes, can’t it? I particularly hate it when it works just fine all day and then goes out right when I want to post something XD
Anyway, glad you liked the chapter! Thanks for your comments!! ^___^
Yay! Have I mentioned how much I love your characters in this story? *grin* First of all, I really do appreciate any male character that’s comfortable enough to climb right into their lover’s lap. Heero wants to hold Duo in his lap and Quatre is perfectly fine with sitting in Trowa’s lap in Trowa’s armchair. That’s great.
Secondly… go Quatre! *smile* I love how Quatre just… takes Trowa to task over his own self image, all in a loving and non-violent way, of course. Technically, it is barely possible that Quatre really could live for 87 more years… but then he’d be 111 years old. And I really do believe that that would be a long, long time to wait for anything. XD Especially when Quatre could be using those years to change Trowa’s outlook much more effectively through actions.
And Quatre’s description of Trowa almost had me blushing, and it wasn’t even about me. I’m sure Trowa wanted nothing more than to change the topic of conversation. *giggle*
I’m very glad you love the characters in this story; I’ve had a lot of fun messing around with them, and I like to think I’ve done it pretty well. It’s always nice to get approval from outside myself! :D
Yes, I suppose it is technically possible for Quatre to live 87 more years… it’s just not likely. And, as you said, who wants to wait that long?
I think they made a real breakthrough here; this Trowa often just needs to be told straight-up what’s going on and how things are going to be XD
La la la la la.
