I am tired today but in a good mood. For one thing, Tokio let me pet her a lot before I left for work. For another, it is Friday and that is always good. Also, there is a lot of snow outside and it is prettiful.
We are watching some movie about football players. No The Ring, in other words. Too bad. When I get home I must remember to type up my Naruto dream. For now I will stop this entry and go back to working.
I never knew beverages with tapioca in them were called “bubble [insert name of beverage here]”. Personally, I think I’d try to live the American dream and sue the shop for false advertising: there is no tea in their product, if the description is any indication XDDD
This was so cute! I could probably read this kind of fic all day, every day. I’m glad this topic got explored more, though! I totally (think) I know how Duo feels about not feeling human. I don’t feel American whenever I go back, but that’s what the old passport says. Having Duo using magic was a nice reminder that he does, in fact, have magical abilities. And I’d love to read more about Heero learning magic for himself. Where did you get the idea for magical centers (or is that your own device?)
Also, it was funny (to me, anyway) how I was starting to think “I’ll have to include this in the comments later” about the “why does Duo start every sentence with ‘Let me say'” when Heero asks that VERY thing.
Thanks for sharing and I hope I get to read more Plastiverse soon!
Yeah, they call it “bubble tea” or “boba” or various other weird things… sometimes there is actually tea in it, but the shops around here sell mostly smoothies (and still call it by those names XD)
There will indeed be more about Heero’s magical abilities eventually, if I manage to get more stories written. “Soon” is not a thing I would hope for; it’s a sort of magic all on its own that I even got this one written, heh.
Anyway, I’m very glad you liked it! Thank you for your comments ^___^
Oh, and I totally forgot to answer your question about magical centers. It is indeed my own device, but I’m sure I was inspired by something somewhere :D
Saturday morning was almost always my Plastic reading time, so I saved this for today. :-)
This story was such a nice way to show Duo’s progress, and to highlight that while things are going well, there are some issues they have to deal with. I’m glad Heero understood Duo’s concerns. It would have been easy for him to get defensive, but he handled it just the right way. I suspect it’s because Heero handles things more intellectually than emotionally. I’m also glad Duo knew not to keep his feelings secret.
I loved the part with Duo using magical language with Heero. It’s nice to see that while Heero is teaching Duo a lot of things, Duo also has things to teach Heero. The balance between them might not be equal, but it’s not as one sided as it could be.
The picture is lovely. It was perfect for that scene!
I am very glad you liked this story! I am happy to have finished it at all XD Glad you like the picture, too; I’m not 100% pleased with it, but I obviously liked it enough to put it up, heh. Anyway, thanks for your comments! ^___^
Great oneshot. Hmm… Bubble tea. We have at least 3 shops where I live and plenty of Asian restaurants have it in their menu. Great picture.
Thanks for sharing. *^_^*
Bubble tea is great! Glad you liked the story and the picture ^__^ Thanks!
Oh God how I missed this universe. I still have your other fic started and in my to read folder as soon as I have some time, but when I saw Plastic I couldn’t wait. I really do hope you continue, there are so many things I would love to see: Duo adjusting to every day life, Quatre and Trowa getting more comfortable with each other, Heero trying magic… and I want Wufei to be happy too, damnit! Still, this was a great little bit, that touched some things I was courious about. I love how you write your characters, they are so belivable and… normal. Duo’s concerns are very natural, and the way Heero dels with them is sweet but not exagerated :) Ahh it was such a pleasure to read more of this!
I’m so glad you liked this piece; thank you very much! I too hope I will be able to write more in this universe… I have plans for all the things you mentioned (including Wufei being happy!), if I can just get to it. I’m also happy you think the characters feel natural; that’s really good to hear. Thanks again for your comments!
