The worst part is that she’s been working there for three years!!!!
Argh. That just sucks.
I am an average employee at my phone survey job. I am not very good, but I rarely, if ever, break major infractions. There are people around the office who have been there longer than I have and who complete many more surveys than I do. Occasionally, I end up sitting near these paragons of phone virtue and get to hear how the real pros get the job done. Apparently, the trick is to raise your voice every time you finish or pause within a sentence, pronounce words with absolutely bizarre inflections that really bring out that “I’m just reading this off a screen right now” quality, and begin absolutely every question with the word “and” or “now”. Oh, those employees with seniority are sure in a different league, boy howdy!
The thing about this lady is that she is incredibly nice and friendly, the one thing that kindasorta almost cancels out stupid. Almost. She gets so many kudos calls because she’s so very determined to help people out and be kind… so I will never actually throw things or snark (out loud) at her. But every single day I hear her asking the supervisors these painfully basic questions that anyone who’s been on the floor two weeks knows the answers to… and they’re usually the same painfully basic questions she asked yesterday and the day before and the day before…
“Now” and “and” are definitely winners, BTW. We don’t have scripts, so we probably use them even more than y’all do XD
