Recently, I was playing ACNH when the account used by all my nephews and niece invited me to play Apex Legends. And I could be wrong, but I think FPS is the type of game I’m worst at of aaalllll types of games, and I am not handy at video games in general.

Two Weeks In Photos (Too lazy to check how many weeks this actually was): A bunch of (mostly Christmas 2019) photos without any notes (except one)

06/22: Lil Miss ? often kindly helps me play video games. Here she is enjoying Castlevania with me: 06/23: There’s this one little bun that lives in our back yard. As far as I can tell, it’s just the one; I haven’t seen multiple buns in the grass...

12/29: I pulled out of the garage and saw this guy just chillin’ beside the fence. He was there for so long, sometimes asleep but sometimes startled by human comings and goings, that I kinda worried about him. It was super cold that day, and the spot...

Getting back on track in a new month. 07/29: Waybee always likes that kind of surface. 08/01: I happened to be reading The Hunchback of Notre Dame just when this cat came in, and I couldn’t get over how many visual points he had in common with Quasimodo: 08/07:...

36 days until I turn 38! Now for some photos. 07/17: Somebody brought Hiko a rope to play with. He already has one he doesn’t play with (in fact I use it as a doorstop), and this new one is huge, so I’m not sure he’s ever played with the gift…...

Strong Bad’s Cool Game for Attractive People — We’ve discussed already how I am about video games, and here’s the opposite end of the spectrum. This series is damn near perfect. I replay it when I get to missing my friends from Free Country USA...

06/02: I keep an electric blanket under my desk for when I’m cold as I work on stuff — which is all the time, since I’ve apparently evolved into a Vulcan (or a Vulcanian, depending on the episode). And Galileo likes the blanket even when it’s...

Hero U: Rogue to Redemption — OK, let’s talk about me and my ADHD and video games for a second. Games that have both the type of gameplay and the type of story/setup that can hold my attention sufficiently that I’m actually willing to play them...

I Am Not Your Perfect Mexican Daughter by Erika Sánchez — I enjoyed this book despite how painful it was. Julia goes through remarkable and very believable character growth. At first she’s an insufferable teenager (though in a very understandable way that...

I feel like I started writing this AEL already and then maybe lost the draft somehow, ’cause I could swear the SU eps in particular already had some thoughts about them somewhere, and that there were more than just the things I can think of at the moment lined...

A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens — As I mentioned in my Christmas movie roundup, it is a family tradition to read this story aloud every Christmas Eve whilst eating a smorgasbord of eclectic snacks. It takes a few hours, and we’re all hoarse and...

First of all, here is an EA arrangement I made at some point and thought looked cute. Those pineapple numbers are adorable, aren’t they? One day I came into EA and found what I think was an attempt by some co-workers to make it look like there was a looming...

For (a rather early) Christmas this year, we went to Disneyland. The coincidental placement of when we found cheap airline tickets put us there on election day, which was able to give us strength — or at least some feeble distraction — against the...
